Google has crowned Ablo the Best App of 2019, recognizing its ingenuity and polish in connecting people from around the world.
Launched in January of this year, Ablo allows users to chat with soon-to-be-friends in their own language, thanks to automatic translation. The app also enables video calls with translated captions, making it easy to communicate across languages and cultures.
Ablo has been downloaded over 6.5 million times in more than 180 countries since its launch and is creating over 50,000 friendships every day. The app is free to download on both iOS and Android, and there is also a web version.
According to Google, Ablo's mission of creating unlikely connections and encouraging users to learn about unfamiliar cultures resonated with them. The app's beautifully designed interface and thoughtful execution also impressed Google.
Ablo's CEO, Joost Roelandts, expressed his team's pride in being named Best App by Google, saying, 'We love connecting people from all around the world and blurring boundaries. Being named Best App by Google is crowning the work of our entire team that put so much effort and devotion into this.'
