On December 18, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded at the DCI headquarters in Kiambu Road as artiste Kennedy Ombima, alias King Kaka, arrived with a crowd of supporters, including activist Boniface Mwangi and fellow artistes.
King Kaka claimed that someone had called his manager, instructing him to come to the DCI offices, saying 'Tunajua pahali uko, kuja.'
However, the DCI denied summoning King Kaka, stating that they had not summoned him and warning him against seeking publicity through their platform.
Despite the denial, King Kaka was eventually asked to report the person who had summoned him, and he has since done so, with the DCI promising to investigate.
Supporters, including Wahu Mathenge and Nameless, rallied behind King Kaka, with Wahu stating that he was exercising his democratic rights and Nameless expressing his solidarity.
Miguna Miguna also joined the movement, saying that revolutionary ideas like King Kaka's cannot be intimidated.
