Kenya Weather Forecast: Rainfall Reduction Expected Across the Country ¶
Kenya can breathe a sigh of relief as the Kenya Meteorological Department announced rainfall intensity will fall in most parts of the country over the next seven days.
According to the latest weather forecast, the acting deputy director at the Kenya Meteorological Department, Bernard Chanzu, stated that rain has been reducing since the start of December 2019.
Chanzu further stated that few regions will still experience light to moderate showers during the coming week, with the Coastal region expected to experience morning and afternoon showers.
Counties such as Turkana, West Pokot, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, and Samburu will experience sunny intervals across the day, while Kajiado, Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, and Taita Taveta will experience sunny intervals in the morning, giving way to showers in the afternoon.
Other counties such as Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Laikipia, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, and Busia will also experience the same weather pattern.
Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, and Uasin Gishu will also experience the same patterns.
The news comes following heavy rain across the country, which has led to more than 100 deaths, thousands displaced, and loss of property, with northern Kenya being the worst hit.
