On Tuesday, James Oloo, a 50-year-old tailor from Roasters area along Thika Superhighway, appeared before the Makadara Law Court on charges of threatening to kill his former wife, Sara Odhiambo, and her children.
According to the allegations, on Sunday, December 14, 2019, Oloo allegedly threatened to kill Sara and her children, saying, “Nitakuua na hao watoto wako” (I will kill you and your children).
It is reported that Oloo and his wife shared a stall as tailors, but their marriage had ended.
After the alleged threat, Sara and her children left for home, with Oloo following them from behind until they arrived. He then left for a drinking spree.
Later, Oloo called his daughter and asked if her mother was still in the house, which made Sara suspicious and led her to hide at her sister's place.
However, Oloo followed her there and allegedly assaulted her sister-in-law and destroyed property.
He was later kicked out of the house by the neighbours after attempting to set it ablaze.
When arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji, Oloo denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000.
The hearing of his case is set to start on April 27, 2020.
