On December 14, 2019, police in Nairobi's Shauri Moyo estate arrested two suspects, Kitebe Mohamed and Nicholas Mwajuma, for being in possession of witchcraft paraphernalia.
According to reports, the suspects were found with an assortment of items, including an unidentified white liquid, red and blue sheets, a red-flowered carpet, and various powders.
Police believe the items were intended to be used to cause fear among members of the public.
The suspects were presented before the Makadara Law Courts on December 15, 2019, and denied the charges.
They were released on a cash bail of Sh 50,000 each and the case was scheduled for hearing on April 24, 2020.
