Motorists, be advised: a section of the Thika Superhighway will be closed for three nights starting Thursday, December 19, 2019.

According to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the road will be closed at the Mangu Road junction (Njomoko) to facilitate the construction of a footbridge.

The exercise is expected to have minimal impact on traffic, as it will take place at night from 11pm to 4am on the stated days.

KeNHA has urged motorists to be cautious and comply with the directions issued by traffic marshals.

"We request motorists to cooperate and comply with the proposed traffic management plan and as directed by the traffic marshals. We highly regret any inconvenience caused," reads the notice.

Motorists from Nairobi will be diverted to the service lane at exit 16A at Vincetian Retreat center, while those coming from Murang'a to Nairobi will use alternative routes through Thika and diversions.
