On Tuesday, a tragic incident occurred in Kisumu Ndogo, Korogocho slum in Nairobi, where a police officer attached to Kariobangi station lost his life.
According to eyewitnesses, the officer was attempting to arrest a suspect when the individual raised an alarm, attracting a large and angry crowd.
The locals, in an attempt to rescue the suspect, hurled stones at the officers, resulting in one of them being hit on the head and dying instantly.
As reported by police, the incident was a result of chaos that erupted after the suspect resisted arrest and alerted the residents, who then engaged the police officers in a confrontation.
Security officers have since been deployed to the area to hunt down the suspect and those involved in the attack.
