Kenya Airways has announced the appointment of Allan Kilavuka as its acting Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2020, until a substantive CEO is recruited and appointed.
According to a letter signed by Catherine Musakali, company secretary of Kenya Airways, Kilavuka will take over from Sebastian Mikosz, who exits the carrier by the end of December 2019.
With over 22 years of working experience, Kilavuka is currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Jambojet. He has extensive experience in strategy, business development, and financial leadership, among other areas.
Mikosz, who was hired in May 2017, announced his exit in May 2019, just three months after MPs stopped a proposed takeover of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Kenya Airways.
