On December 14, 2019, police in Nairobi arrested Nicholas Mwajuma and Kitebe Mohamed for allegedly possessing items used in witchcraft in Shauri Moyo estate.

The suspects were charged before Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji at the Makadara Law Courts on Monday.

According to the police, the items found in the suspects' possession included a brown powder mixed with torn newspapers, a brown substance with an egg, fine brown powder in a tin, and a brown powder wrapped in a polythene bag.

Other items seized included a white liquid in a five-liter jerican, red and blue sheets, a red flowered carpet, a white kanzu, four birds' legs, and half a kilogram of millet in a beer bottle.

The suspects had business cards bearing their contacts and services, which the police believe were used to intimidate the public.

Both Mwajuma and Mohamed denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Sh 50,000 each. Their case will be heard on April 24, 2020.
