On November 4, a heated confrontation between two businesswomen, Sarah Wamaitha Kuria and Mercy Waithegeri Murithi, turned violent in downtown Nairobi, leading to their arraignment in court.
According to reports, the fight broke out at a phone shop along Sheikh Karume Road after Wamaitha stormed the shop, accusing Waithegeri of stalking her husband.
Wamaitha's husband had allegedly informed her that Waithegeri was making unwanted advances, prompting Wamaitha to warn Waithegeri to stay away and even hiring an informer to monitor her movements.
However, on the day of the fight, Wamaitha found her husband chatting with Waithegeri, leading to a physical altercation.
The two women were arrested after the incident was reported at the Kamukunji Police Station and denied the charges of affray and malicious damage to property.
They were released on a cash bail of Sh 30,000 each and are set to appear in court again on April 15, 2020.
