On December 17, 2019, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) denied summoning King Kaka, the 'Wajinga Nyinyi' rapper, amidst claims that he had been summoned by DCI officers at their Kiambu headquarters.

According to a tweet by the DCI, they strongly condemned false information being peddled through social media, stating that anyone seeking publicity should desist from using their platform for media attention.

King Kaka had earlier communicated via his official Twitter account that he had been summoned by DCI officers, sparking a wave of support from his friends, fellow artistes, and Kenyans of goodwill who joined him at the DCI Headquarters in Kiambu.

The rapper's song 'Wajinga Nyinyi' had recently been released, exposing voter ignorance and 'stupidity' in Kenya and how it is manifested in the election and re-election of corrupt individuals.

Earlier, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru had ordered King Kaka to pull down the song from all social media platforms and apologize to her in writing or face a legal suit.

Waiguru accused King Kaka of defaming her in a verse in the song referring to a National Youth Service scandal where she was adversely mentioned.
