On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, Modern Coast buses will return to the roads after a two-day suspension.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) lifted the suspension, which was put in place after two fatal crashes involving Modern Coast buses.

On December 12, 2019, NTSA suspended the operator's license following a collision between two Modern Coast buses that killed seven passengers and injured 62 others.

Another Modern Coast bus had been involved in an accident with a similar vehicle from Tahmeed company a day earlier.

NTSA summoned officials from Tahmeed Coach Limited three days after the suspension notice, citing public complaints and reports of near-fatal crashes.

NTSA Director General George Njao urged the public to report motorists endangering the lives of passengers or other road users to the nearest Police station or NTSA offices.
