Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka, has found himself at the center of a controversy after visiting the headquarters of the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi.
King Kaka, accompanied by his fans and supporters, including activist Boniface Mwangi, presented himself to the DCI on December 17, 2019, sparking widespread speculation on social media.
However, the DCI has denied claims that they summoned King Kaka, with the agency's Twitter handle stating, 'We wish to condemn strongly false information being peddled through social media to the effect that one Kennedy Ombima @RabbitTheKing has been summoned. Nobody from @DCI_Kenya has summoned him.'
King Kaka had earlier announced on social media that he had been summoned by the agency, tweeting, 'I have just been summoned by The CID.'
Activist Boniface Mwangi had also confirmed that King Kaka had informed him that he was due to appear at the DCI on Tuesday at noon.
The visit comes after King Kaka released a controversial new hit, Wajinga Nyinyi, which has sparked a heated debate on social media.
Additionally, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has threatened to sue the rapper for defamation over the song's lyrics.
