Moses Kuria in Trouble After Insulting Wife's Lawyer

Published on December 17, 2019

Kenyan politician Moses Kuria has found himself in a tricky situation after insulting his wife's lawyer, Kamotho Waiganjo, on social media.

Waiganjo, who is also the husband of Governor Anne Waiguru, had taken to Facebook to warn Kuria against insulting his wife, saying he was free to criticize her in politics but not to use insults.

"Mheshimiwa Moses Kuria, hebu wacha kumtusi mke wangu. Uko huru kulumbana naye kisiasa lakini sio kwa kutumia matusi," Waiganjo said in a Facebook post.

However, Kuria responded by saying he was not King Kaka, a musician who had been accused of being involved in the NYS scandal, and that he was only discussing Josephine Kabura, the main suspect in the scandal.

"Tulia wakili, nilikuwa namtaja Kabura na wala sio mkeo. Usichanganyikiwe, mimi sio King Kaka. Pole," Kuria said in response.

Waiganjo had been responding to Kuria's earlier post in which he had said that President Uhuru Kenyatta had appointed someone who was not trustworthy to oversee the NYS project.

It is worth noting that Kuria had earlier been warned by Governor Waiguru's husband after he refused to apologize for insulting her.
