December 17, 2019, marked a turning point in Kennedy Ombima's life. With only Sh. 1,200 in his pocket, he was determined to turn his art skills into a lucrative business.

As he walked home from a meeting with a friend who had rejected his plea for work, Ombima reflected on his situation. He remembered a quote from his college teacher: 'It's not about how fast you pedal, it's about how clearly you focus.'

With newfound determination, Ombima began brainstorming ways to make money during the Christmas season. He spent the next few days researching, creating a portfolio of his artwork, and even buying business cards and outfits to present himself professionally.

Armed with his portfolio and a confident attitude, Ombima pitched his services to seven shops in Nairobi's Kijabe Street. He offered not only to paint Christmas decorations but also to provide after-sales service, including cleaning the windows after the season ended.

His unique approach and attention to detail won over the shop owners, and Ombima landed contracts to paint over 70 shops at an average of Sh. 5,000 each. His business thrived for three to four years, and he eventually transitioned into the music industry.

Years later, Ombima walked into one of the shops he had painted, now a client, and was greeted with laughter and recognition. His entrepreneurial journey was a testament to the power of creativity, hard work, and determination.
