December 17, 2019, marked a significant day in the world of football as reports emerged of Premier League side Arsenal engaging in talks with Manchester City over the availability of coach Mikel Arteta.
Gunners chief executive Vinai Venkatesham was spotted leaving Arteta's Manchester mansion following City's 3-0 win at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Manchester City's superstar playmaker Kevin De Bruyne weighed in on the matter, stating that it would be a perfect opportunity for Arteta's career growth.
'He is helping us a lot, but if he gets a good opportunity to be a head coach, and he thinks it's time for him to take that, I think as a club you need to let somebody go,' De Bruyne said in an interview with UK media.
De Bruyne added that Arteta is finding his role at Manchester City 'really, really good right now' and that he will eventually want to be a head coach.
Arteta started his coaching role under Pep Guardiola in 2016 after retiring from playing at the end of his fifth season with Arsenal.
