On December 17, 2019, popular rapper Kennedy Ombima, alias King Kaka, took to Twitter to claim that he had been summoned by the DCI.

However, the DCI swiftly denied the allegations, condemning the false information being peddled through social media.

King Kaka's claim came just days after his hit song Wajinga Nyinyi sparked a heated debate, with many Kenyans praising the artist for speaking out against graft and corruption.

But not everyone was pleased with the song, with Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru threatening to sue King Kaka for defamation.

Waiguru claimed that the song was reckless and malicious, and demanded that King Kaka take down the song within 24 hours or face the consequences.

But King Kaka has received support from several lawyers, including Ahmednassir Abdullahi and Nelson Havi, who have pledged to defend him in court for free if needed.

Ahmednassir Abdullahi, a renowned lawyer, had earlier tweeted that he would defend King Kaka in court for free if anyone dared to sue him, stating that the song did not defame anyone amongst the ruling elites.

Nelson Havi, another lawyer, also pledged his support to King Kaka, affirming that he would defend the artiste against any lawsuit from Waiguru.

King Kaka's song Wajinga Nyinyi criticized Kenyans for being quick to forget cases of corruption and later electing the same implicated individuals to power.

The song also mentioned the NYS scandal during Waiguru's tenure as governor, with King Kaka saying that 'the governor bought a biro pen at a cost of Sh8,000 which is locally sold at Sh20 and is now the governor'.
