Kimilili constituency is on the brink of a heated political contest, with incumbent legislator Didmus Barasa facing off against newcomer Bryan Khaemba.
According to reports, a fierce supremacy battle is underway between the two politicians, with allegations of violence and intimidation emerging.
On December 17, 2019, Khaemba's home in Kimilili was raided by goons, who destroyed properties and caused significant damage.
Khaemba, a lawyer and owner of a law firm in Nairobi, has termed the violence as 'premature and unnecessary panic', pointing fingers at his political opponents.
'I'm aware that my brand has already attracted faceless opponents who have resorted to barbaric and criminal actions,' Khaemba said in a statement to the media after reporting the matter at Kimilili Police Station.
Meanwhile, a former London School of Economics graduate and businessman Edward Kisaka has joined the race for Webuye East parliamentary seat, citing the need for a leader who will mobilize and rally the community to take personal responsibility.
