On a fateful Jamhuri Day night, a 23-year-old man, Brian Odhiambo, staggered into his father's house in Mathare, Nairobi, allegedly with two women's belongings.

According to reports, Odhiambo was drunk and had in his possession a cellphone worth Sh 1,000, a flash disk, and Sh500, which he had allegedly stolen from Catherine Mwikali Katiwa.

He was also found with items belonging to another woman, who was later traced by Odhiambo's father, James Ogutu.

Odhiambo was arrested and charged with robbery with violence, handling stolen goods, and handling stolen property.

He denied the charges before Makadara Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji and was released on a bond of Sh 500,000.

The case is set to resume on April 23 next year, with Ogutu listed as a key witness.
