Kenya's coastal region witnessed a thrilling football tournament as Chap Dee Boys emerged victorious in the inaugural #KOT5Aside Mombasa Edition.
The tournament, which debuted three years ago, has previously been held in Nairobi. This edition comes six months after the third edition was held at Ligi Ndogo grounds along Ngong Road in Nairobi.
Chap Dee Boys had previously finished second in the third edition, losing to Unfit FC. However, they made the most of their experience to claim the top spot this time around.
Speaking after the tournament, founder Sir Alexas expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and support, despite the hot coastal weather.
"The turnout was impressive, and I would like to thank gaming firm OdiBets and other corporate companies for kitting all the teams as well as giving us the prize money for the winners," he said.
Local betting company OdiBets sponsored the kits used by all the teams in the tournament. The company has also partnered with Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for a three-year deal, which includes renaming all FKF county leagues as Odibets County leagues.
The winners of the #KOT5Aside tournament take home Sh50,000, while the runners-up receive Sh30,000.
