Published on December 17, 2019, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has threatened to sue rapper King Kaka for mentioning her in his hit song Wajinga Nyinyi.
The song, which has garnered 1.4 million views, addresses the problems affecting the country, including corruption and poor governance.
King Kaka used Waiguru's NYS case as an example, saying in his lyrics, 'Ati Waiguru ako kwa office, na story ya NYS tulishasahau, Biro moja alibuy 8 thao, Biro tunanunuanga mbao, Either sisi ndio wajinga ama, ako na marking scheme ya Accau.'
Waiguru claims the song is defamatory and the rapper is tarnishing her name. In a letter to King Kaka's lawyers, Waiguru's lawyers demanded an apology and retraction, stating, 'You ought to have known that despite extensive investigations and several prosecutions in relation to the loss of funds at NYS, our client has never been charged in a court of law as an accused person in relation to NYS or any other scandal.'
King Kaka has responded by sharing a post asking his followers to pray for him, saying, 'Please pray for the king.'
