December 15, 2017, will forever be etched in the memories of the Sherman family as the day their loved ones, Honey and Barry Sherman, were found dead in their Toronto home.
Barry Sherman, the 75-year-old chairman of global generic drug supplier Apotex, and his wife Honey, 70, were discovered hanging in their basement, with their bodies later determined to have been strangled.
Initially, police suspected a murder-suicide, but an investigation led by the Sherman family's private investigators concluded that the couple's deaths were targeted homicides.
"The family and police urge anyone who has reliable information regarding the murders, no matter how small or unimportant that information may seem, to please contact the police through their usual channels," Inspector Hank Idsinga said in a statement.
With over 340 tips received by the private investigators and 205 more by the police, along with interviews of over 240 witnesses, the investigation continues to unfold.
Despite a $7.6 million reward being offered in October 2018, the case remains unsolved, leaving many questions unanswered.
Barry Sherman founded Apotex in 1974, revolutionizing the drug industry in Canada, and the company now employs over 11,000 people, selling 300 generic drugs in 120 countries.
