December 16, 2019 - Stima FC's head coach Salim Babu has praised his team's teamwork and fighting spirit for their impressive performance in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
Stima FC climbed to second place in the KPL standings after their 3-1 win over Nzoia FC on Sunday, trailing league leaders Tusker FC by a single point.
Coach Babu attributed the team's success to their hardworking players who enjoy the game. 'This group of players are very hard working and they like enjoying the game. We are proud of what we have achieved so far but this league is a marathon and we have to continue giving our best on each game for us to finish in a strong position,' he said.
Meanwhile, Tusker FC's winning streak came to an end when they were held to a barren draw by AFC Leopards at Kenyatta stadium, Machakos on Sunday.
Bandari FC bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over Kisumu All Stars in Kisumu on Saturday, moving to 11th position on the log with 25 points.
Dockers midfielder David King'atua urged his teammates to build on the win in their upcoming games, saying, 'We are a big club with great players but the position we are currently in doesn’t reflect our ability. Therefore, it is very important to take every game like a final.'
