Kenyan musician King Kaka has been at the center of controversy after releasing a song that has attracted the ire of Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru. The song, titled WajingaNyinyi, was released on the YouTube platform and has been viewed by many.

According to sources, the song contains lyrics that Governor Waiguru claims are defamatory and have damaged her reputation. The lyrics in question are: ” Ati Waiguru ako kwa office Na story ya NYS tulisahau. Biro Moja alibuy 8thao Biro tunanunanga mbao. Either sisi ndio wajinga ama akona marking scheme ya Accountant”.

Governor Waiguru has threatened to sue King Kaka over the song lyrics, claiming that they are false and have caused her harm. She has given King Kaka an ultimatum to retract the song and apologize, or face legal action.

The demand letter sent by Governor Waiguru's lawyers, Kiragu Wathuta and Company Advocates, on December 16, 2019, outlines the conditions that King Kaka must meet in order to avoid a lawsuit. The letter demands that King Kaka offer an unequivocal retraction and apology, withdraw the song from all streaming platforms, and admit to defamation liability in writing.
