December 16, 2019, marked a significant day for King Kaka, the Wajinga Nyinyi songmaker, as Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru threatened to sue him over his song.

King Kaka's song, which has gone viral, has rubbed the governor the wrong way, particularly with its defamatory title 'Wajinga Nyinyi.'

The song touches on various issues affecting the Kenyan youth, especially corruption, which has got the governor to threaten to sue him.

However, the singer still has a chance to avoid a day in court if he apologizes and meets the demands of the governor's legal team.

According to the governor's lawyers, Paul Kiragu Wathuta, the artist deliberately omitted to verify the authenticity and accuracy of the contents in the song.

"You have uttered various allegations and innuendos concerning our client which are wholly false and deceptive and without any bias whatsoever and which have amounted to gross and blatant misrepresentation of facts and deliberate mischaracterization of our client's conduct," the legal documents read in part.

The governor's legal team has made a list of demands, including an equivocal and unreserved retraction, an apology, and the permanent withdrawal of the song from all social media platforms.
