Kenyan football fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Ismael Dunga back on the pitch. The 26-year-old striker has undergone reconstructive knee surgery in Albania, a move that will keep him out of action until February.

According to his club, Albanian top-tier side FK Tirana, Dunga successfully underwent the surgery at Salus Hospital and will start his recovery immediately after two days.

"Ismael Dunga has successfully undergone knee surgery at Salus Hospital. After two days the striker will immediately start work on his recovery. Dunga is expected to be ready for the team at the beginning of February," the club posted on its official Facebook page.

Before undergoing surgery, Dunga had been impressing in Albania, netting 10 times for Luftetari before joining Tirana mid-year. He has since scored three league goals in eight appearances for the club.

FK Tirana is the most successful club in Albania, with 56 recognized major domestic trophies under its belt.
