On Monday, December 16, 2019, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua filed a report at Kilimani Police Station alleging that he was threatened by Deputy President William Ruto and his close allies.
According to Mutua, he was repeatedly insulted by Ruto, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale while at State House on several occasions.
However, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed Mutua's claims, stating that they are baseless and unfounded.
"Mutua is writing another script of the Cobra Squad. After failing in his leadership, he has turned into Joseph Goebbels of his county's government. He has no reason to be taken seriously, even when it comes to the threats he claims to have received. We will only take him seriously when he stops being a clown," Murkomen said.
Goebbels was a propaganda expert and a close friend of Adolf Hitler, known for his effective use of rhetoric to spread lies and deceive his opponents.
