On a fateful Sunday night, December 15, 2019, a pastor and his two sons lost their lives in a horrific road accident along the Siaya – Nyadorera road.
The tragedy occurred when a vehicle ferrying contraband liquor from a neighboring country collided with their motorcycle at around 9:00 pm.
The vehicle, a Toyota Wish registration number UBE 582 E, was heading in the opposite direction when it rammed into the motorcycle, killing the pastor and his sons instantly.
The accident scene was chaotic, with the bodies of the trio scattered along the highway and the vehicle landing in a ditch a few meters away.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Mr. Bus, was seen calling for help after the accident, and a white Isuzu D-Max arrived shortly to pick him and his passenger, who had serious injuries.
The villagers expressed frustration over the frequent occurrence of such accidents, citing the notorious practice of vehicles ferrying contraband being released without being held accountable.
Siaya County Police Commander Francis Kooli confirmed the accident and appealed to the public to help bring the driver to book.
