On December 16, 2019, a controversy erupted on social media surrounding actor Ian Munene, popularly known as Almasi, after he shared a video goofing around with a male friend.

Almasi's dress code has been a subject of debate among his fans, with some questioning his sexual orientation.

One of his followers, Kingtutakhamun, took to his handle to express his disapproval, saying that Almasi's actions were 'meant for the bedroom.'

"Do that shit in your bedroom…this image is bad for growing children."

However, Comedienne Teacher Wanjiku came out in support of Almasi, advising him to do what makes him happy.

"Why would you come to somebody’s handle and insult them? It is so wrong. very wrong. @ian_nene whatever makes you happy do it unapologetically we only have one life to live."

Teacher Wanjiku's words of encouragement have been met with praise from fans, who appreciate her support for Almasi.
