Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has taken drastic measures to protect himself, recording a statement at Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi on December 16, 2019.

According to the statement, Dr. Mutua claims that Deputy President William Ruto, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen have threatened his life on two separate occasions.

Dr. Mutua alleges that the threats were made because of his comments on national issues, specifically at State House on December 11, 2019.

He further claims that his fight against corruption is the reason behind the threats against his life.

Dr. Mutua cited an incident on November 25, 2019, when Murkomen and Duale confronted him for attacking DP Ruto at State House.

He recorded the statement under OB No. 50/16/12/2019, stating that the trio has threatened him with unspecified consequences.
