On Sunday night, a devastating road accident occurred near Nyang'oma area along Siaya-Nyadorera road in Alego/Usonga Sub-county, claiming the lives of three people.
According to Siaya Sub-county Police Commander Justus Kucha, the accident involved a motorcycle carrying three people and a Toyota Wish vehicle.
The motorbike was heading in the same direction as the speeding Toyota Wish, which struck it, killing the three people instantly.
After causing the accident, the driver of the Toyota Wish fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle, which was later found to be carrying illicit liquor known as Simba Waragi.
The bodies of the deceased were removed to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary, and the vehicle was towed to Siaya Police Station for further investigations.
