Chelsea's FIFA transfer ban has been lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, paving the way for the club to sign new players in January, including a potential replacement for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Arrizabalaga, who joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for a record £71.6million in 2018, has struggled to live up to expectations, conceding 37 goals this season with a save percentage of 56%.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has expressed his disappointment with Arrizabalaga's performances, citing the goalkeeper's recent antics on the pitch, including a high-profile dispute with the coaching staff during the Carabao Cup final in February.

According to reports, Lampard is now looking to bring in a new goalkeeper in January, with the club's transfer ban having been reduced by half by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on December 6, 2019.
