Published on December 16, 2019, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has accused Deputy President William Ruto of threatening his life.
Mutua, who has been a vocal critic of Ruto, claimed that the Deputy President and his allies, including National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale and Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen, have been sending him death threats.
While addressing the press at the Kilimani Police Station, where he recorded a statement, Mutua said he had been threatened by Ruto at State House.
“William Ruto, Kipchumba Murkomen, Aden Duale have sent threats to me against my life,” he said.
Mutua also claimed that Ruto had promised to 'teach him a lesson' and 'Sasa nitakugonga' (I will hit you now) during their conversation at State House.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader said he is being threatened because of his constant attacks on the DP.
“Adan Duale na Kipchumba Murkomen walinitishia kuwa watanifunza funzo kwa madai ya kumshambulia Naibu Rais William Ruto” Mutua said.
