On December 16, 2019, a Twitter account claiming to be Wavinya Ndeti's press team sparked controversy by condemning rapper King Kaka in a tweet.
The account, @WavinyaPress, wrote: “King Kaka must be called out, you cannot abuse elected leaders simply because you want to seek relevance. We must draw the line on content creation. You can actually pass your message without dragging anyone disrespectfully.”
However, Wavinya Ndeti has denied any involvement with the account, stating that she only has one Twitter account, @Wavinya_Ndeti.
She expressed shock at being attacked online over the tweet and faulted the media for using the fake tweets to paint her in a bad light.
Wavinya Ndeti has reported the matter to the police and is calling for an investigation into the fake account.
