Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami has ended the year on a high note, scooping the Best Female Video Pulse Music Video award. The 'Ikamate Hiyo' singer spoke to Pulse about the challenges she faced in 2019 and her plans for 2020.

Published on December 16, 2019, Nadia Mukami's journey to success was not without its challenges. In an interview with Pulse, she revealed that she had considered quitting music at some point in 2019 due to the difficulties she faced.

'I'm humbled because, to be honest, it hasn't been a very easy year,' Nadia Mukami said. 'At some point, I even thought I would quit before the end of the year. To my surprise, after holding on, things got better and God has seen the hard work pay. I am grateful.'

Nadia Mukami's win at the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA) is a testament to her perseverance and hard work. She attributed her success to patience, prayer, and hard work, saying that she is glad that her efforts have paid off.

When asked if she considers her win a big highlight in her music career, Nadia Mukami said, 'This is definitely a big highlight in my music career considering how far I have come and the challenges I have had to face. Having been appreciated here, it tells me to prepare for the big ones, the international spot.'

Nadia Mukami has also released her eighth studio single, a gospel jam, which has received mixed reactions from fans and fellow artists. However, she remains confident in her music, saying that good music is good music, regardless of the genre.

Looking to 2020, Nadia Mukami has plans to access the international market and collaborate with artists from outside Kenya. She is excited about the opportunities that 2020 will bring and is confident that her hard work will pay off.
