Didmus Barasa Embroiled in Raila Odinga Controversy at Kijana Wamalwa's Funeral

Didmus Barasa, a Kenyan politician, was reprimanded at Kijana Wamalwa's funeral on December 14, 2019, for criticizing Raila Odinga, a prominent Kenyan leader.

Barasa was speaking at the funeral in Kitale when he made the comments, which were met with disapproval from the audience.

According to the Standard newspaper, Barasa was asked to leave the podium after he was told to stop making seditious remarks.

Barasa had been asked to deliver a message to the late Kijana Wamalwa's father, Michael Wamalwa, saying that he was dealing with a rival who had taken his place as leader of Kenya.

He also told Raila Odinga to acknowledge his defeat in the 2022 presidential election.

Barasa has been critical of Raila Odinga since the Kibra by-election, where he was defeated by a candidate from the ODM party.

He was also criticized by other politicians, including Caleb Amisi, who was asked to leave the ODM party.

Barasa's comments were met with disapproval from the audience, with some calling for him to be removed from the podium.
