On Sunday, a horrific crime shook the quiet streets of Thika, Kiambu County, when a 30-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter were found brutally murdered in their home at the Landless area.

According to Thika Sub-county police commander Beatrice Kiraguri, the bodies were discovered after neighbours reported that the woman had been missing for several days and a foul smell was emanating from the house.

The police were alerted and upon breaking into the house, they found the mother and daughter lying dead, with several stab wounds on their bodies.

However, in a shocking twist, a man believed to be the woman's husband was found dead a few kilometres from the scene of the murder, with his body discovered hanging inside a house, suggesting a possible case of suicide.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to General Kago Funeral home as the police conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the deaths.
