On Sunday, a horrific crime shook the quiet streets of Thika, Kiambu County, as a 30-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter were found brutally murdered in their home at the Landless area.
According to Thika Sub-county police commander Beatrice Kiraguri, the bodies of the deceased were discovered after neighbours reported that the woman had gone missing over the past few days and that a foul smell was emanating from her house.
Police were prompted to break into the house, where they found the woman and her daughter lying dead with several stab wounds.
Tragically, the woman's husband was also found dead a few kilometres from the house, with his body discovered hanging inside a nearby house, believed to be a case of suicide.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to General Kago Funeral home as investigations into the mysterious killing continue.
