On Saturday, Bernard Ndong, a sports anchor at Citizen TV, woke up to the surprise news that he had been featured in a video by Dani Alves, a renowned Brazilian football star.
Alves, who is considered one of the most decorated football players of all time, had uploaded a promotional video for his fashion brand Sik Silk on Instagram.
Ndong was featured in the introductory part of the video, where he spoke about Alves' decision to play in the next FIFA World Cup in 2022 in Qatar.
According to Ndong, he was not aware that he had been featured in the video and was only notified by a social media user.
He stated that he was not contacted by Alves' team prior to the upload, saying, "I was really surprised when I found out that such a global football icon had featured me in his video… A stranger online – @denver_mulwale_wright – alerted me and when I checked it out, I was mind blown,"
Alves, who has won over 40 trophies in his career, previously played for Spanish giants Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain before moving back home to Brazil, where he now plays for Sao Paolo.
