On Sunday, December 15, 2019, Tottenham Hotspur secured a vital away win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux stadium, thanks to a late winner from Jan Vertonghen.
Lucas Moura, who had scored in consecutive Premier League games for the first time since August 2018, gave Tottenham an early lead with a fierce shot into the roof of the net in the 8th minute.
However, Wolves returned stronger in the second half and got their equaliser in the 67th minute through Adama Traore's powerful shot beyond Gazzaniga in goal for Tottenham.
With five minutes left, Gazzaniga produced a brilliant save in his near post to deny Saiss what could have been the winner for Wolves.
Jose Mourinho made his first change of the game in the 88th minute, introducing Christian Eriksen into the fold in place of Lucas Moura, which ultimately paid off as Vertonghen found space at the back post to powerfully head home Eriksen's corner and give Tottenham all three points.
The victory takes Tottenham to fifth on the Premier League table on 26 points, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, while Wolves drop to 8th on the table.
