On December 11, 2019, two young couples in Kisumu, Kenya, exchanged vows in a beautiful wedding ceremony, but their joy was short-lived.

Their dream wedding turned into a nightmare as they struggled to cope with the massive debt they incurred, which ultimately led to their tragic decision to take their own lives.

According to sources, the couples, Mr. and Mrs. Odipo, left a note stating that they were stressed and strained due to the huge debt of Ksh 7.9 Million they accumulated after the wedding.

The letter also revealed that they had to forego their planned honeymoon due to financial constraints.

In a heart-wrenching statement, they blamed their guests for not living up to their expectations, saying, 'We are embarrassed and ashamed that we could not start our new life in happiness because you people did not make us happy as we expected.'

A family member who spoke to The Daily Statesman revealed that the wedding was held at a five-star hotel, and that 90% of the guests were VVIPs and VIPs, who failed to bring the expected gifts.

She also mentioned that three helicopters were hired for the occasion, and that the couple had boasted about their guests bringing gifts worth millions of cash.

However, the reality was far from their expectations, as the guests only brought flowers and Best of Luck cards.
