On Saturday, police in Rarieda arrested a 20-year-old man, Isaac Omondi Ouna, in connection with the mysterious death of his 30-year-old girlfriend, Ann Nayaoro Owino.
According to the police, the circumstances surrounding Owino's death were not immediately established.
Area Police Commander Thomas Ototo confirmed the incident, stating that Owino's body was discovered lying on Ouna's bed by his father, Mr. Johannes Ouna, 53.
"The report about the incident was made at around 11 am by one George Nyawanga Onyango, who is a neighbour to the suspect," said Ototo.
Police officers led by Rarieda DCIO Michael Chepkwony and OCS Aram Police Station Abdirahim Kher visited the scene and processed it for evidence.
Investigations into the death have been launched by detectives from the DCI.
Meanwhile, a Kenya Power staff member in Bondo narrowly escaped death on Saturday while fixing an electric fault.
According to eyewitnesses, the man became unconscious atop an electricity pole and was rescued by his colleagues.
Bondo sub-county Police Commander Antony Wafula stated that the man was later rushed to Bondo sub-county hospital where he was admitted.
"We got information that he was working on the line and believed that the electricity on the line had been switched off," Wafula said.
