December 15, 2019, marked a significant day for the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) as it summoned officials of Tahmeed Coach Limited over the company's safety record.

The summon was occasioned by public complaints and reports of near fatal crashes, prompting NTSA to urge members of the public to report motorists endangering the lives of passengers or other road users to the nearest Police station or NTSA offices.

According to NTSA Director General George Njao, 'We urge members of the public to report motorists endangering the lives of passengers or other road users to the nearest Police station or NTSA offices.'

Tahmeed Coach Limited officials are expected to appear before the authority on Monday, amidst a backdrop of heightened scrutiny following the suspension of Modern Coast's operational licence last week.

NTSA suspended Modern Coast's licence after an accident in which 7 people died and 62 others were injured, when two Modern Coast buses collided at Kiongwani area on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
