On December 13, 2019, detectives from the Flying Squad in Nairobi laid an ambush for a car dealer suspected of selling stolen vehicles.

The suspect, Gideon Kioko Mutuko, was arrested after he reportedly sold a Nissan Patrol with the registration number KBW 109Z, which was identical to another vehicle, a Tata lorry.

The detectives had received a complaint from the victim, who claimed to have been harassed by the dealer to trade in his vehicle for another.

According to the DCI, the detectives had received a report from the victim who was being called upon by the suspect to trade in the Nissan Patrol for a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Police have since summoned the management of Kelco Company, the owner of the Tata lorry, for further investigations.
