On Saturday, police in Rarieda, Siaya County, arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the death of his lover, whose body was found in his house.
The incident occurred in East Uyoma location in Rarieda sub-county, and the suspect is being held at Aram Police Station.
According to Rarieda police boss Thomas Ototo, the suspect's father reportedly told a neighbour that he was shocked to find the woman's body on his son's bed.
Ms Owino's body, which had no visible injuries, was taken to Madiany Sub County Hospital mortuary for further examination.
Police are conducting thorough investigations to establish the cause of the woman's death, and detectives have promised to ensure that justice is served.
