December 15, 2019, marked a significant milestone in the life of gospel singer Esther Wahome as she received an honorary doctorate from the Breakthrough International Bible University.

The university conferred the honor on Esther in recognition of her continued contribution to society, a commitment that began when she was a teenager.

According to the university, Esther was awarded the honorary doctorate after 'having satisfactorily completed the requirement of the approved program; the awarding of this honorary doctorate was authorized by The International University Advisory Board; with all the rights, honour and privileges, as well as the obligations and responsibilities thereunto appertaining.'

Esther expressed her gratitude to God for the recognition and wished her late father could have been present to witness the moment. 'Very grateful to God for the far he has brought me. I wish my dad was here to witness this, he was really looking forward to this day, but I know he is smiling in heaven very proud of me like he always was,' she wrote on Instagram.

Esther also shared her thoughts on the milestone, stating, 'I feel good about this milestone. The university had been following my active participation in bettering society through worship since I was a teenager, and they found it appropriate to confer me with the degree.'
