On Saturday, December 14, 2019, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah continued his scoring streak against Watford with a brace, securing a 2-0 victory for the Premier League leaders at Anfield.
The win marked Liverpool's 11th consecutive victory, further solidifying their position at the top of the table, while Watford's fourth defeat in five games left them rooted to the bottom.
Salah's first goal came in the 38th minute, courtesy of a well-executed counter-attack, where Sadio Mane released him with a precise pass, allowing Salah to sprint towards goal and curl the ball home with his right foot.
However, Mane's second goal was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) due to him being marginally offside when nodding the ball in from Xherdan Shaqiri's whipped cross.
Salah sealed the win with a brilliant back-heeled effort in added time, securing the three points for Juergen Klopp's side.
Watford had earlier missed a chance to take the lead when Abdoulaye Doucoure mishit his shot after Etienne Capoue escaped the offside trap to set him up.
Watford's poor finishing was evident throughout the game, with Ismaila Sarr scuffing his shot after goalkeeper Alisson Becker parried Gerard Deulofeu's cross.
