On December 13, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded at Kerongo Catholic Church in Nyamira County, where a woman named Janet Omwamba stormed her husband's wedding, claiming to be his legal wife.

According to Omwamba, she and her husband, Kemera Ward MCA George Morara, had been lawfully married for 20 years and had not annulled their marriage.

She told NTV, 'Today there was a wedding I did not know of and I was not invited. I realised the groom was my husband. He had not informed me that he was getting married again.'

She had been informed by her child about the wedding, and she decided to check on who was getting married. When she arrived at the church, she was accompanied by a heavy security officer, who handed over a court order to the priest presiding over the ceremony.

The priest, citing the court order, stopped the proceedings and informed the congregation about the development.

Reportedly, family and friends of Morara attempted to eject Omwamba from the wedding, but she stood her ground, stating that she had a legal document refuting the ceremony.

Unfortunately, those who had brought gifts had to leave with them. Morara was quoted by Daily Nation as saying, 'I am really disappointed with what has happened here. I can’t talk now. I am really embarrassed.'
