Liverpool vs Watford: Salah's Brace Inspires Reds to 2-0 Win ¶
Published on December 14, 2019
Liverpool's chances of winning their first Premier League title in three decades received a significant boost after a nervy 2-0 win over bottom side Watford.
Mohamed Salah scored a goal in each half to hand the Reds their 16th win in 17 league matches this campaign.
The Egyptian forward broke the deadlock in the 38th minute with a stunning close-range shot, powered home after a combination with Sadio Mane and a powerful shot from the left side of the 18-yard box.
Jurgen Klopp's men were not all that convincing in the match but their quality helped them maintain their one-goal lead into half time.
The Hornets, who recently got a new manager, gave their best but it was not just good enough as they missed so many chances.
Sadio Mane doubled his side's lead early on in the second half, but the goal was chopped off by the Video Assistant Referee for offside.
With moments to spare, Salah completed his brace, securing a 2-0 win for the Reds and stretching their unbeaten run to 17 games this campaign.
