On December 11, 2019, a video surfaced showing NTV's Jane Ngoiri and Salim Juma acting like rowdy matatu touts.
According to the video, the two were calling out to customers to board their matatu for 'bei ya jioni', a common phrase used by touts to attract passengers.
Salim Juma was heard shouting, 'Wabebe, mbao mbao, oya, oya, oya. Dere shikilia hapo. Nairobi mbao mbao.'
Contradicting Salim's touting, Jane Ngoiri shouted, 'Bei ya jioni hamsini…'
The video was posted by Mpasho News on their Facebook page.
